Product Description
PLA (polylactic acid) is a novel bio-based, renewable, and biodegradable material produced from starch‑derived feedstocks sourced from renewable plant resources such as corn and cassava. Its manufacturing process is pollution‑free, and its end products are biodegradable, enabling them to return to the natural environment in a closed loop—making PLA an ideal green polymer. PLA exhibits excellent thermal stability, with a processing temperature range of 170–230°C, and demonstrates good resistance to solvents. Products made from PLA not only degrade biologically but also offer superior biocompatibility, gloss, transparency, tactile appeal, and heat resistance; they further possess notable antibacterial properties, flame retardancy, and UV resistance. Consequently, PLA has a wide array of applications, including rigid packaging for fruits, vegetables, eggs, prepared foods, and baked goods, as well as packaging for sandwiches, cookies, and fresh flowers.
