PLA Sheet Extrusion Production Line

Polylactic acid, also known as polylactide, belongs to the polyester family. It is a polymer synthesized through the polymerization of lactic acid, commonly referred to as “corn plastic.” With abundant and renewable feedstocks—primarily L‑lactic acid derived from corn or cassava—it is produced via a series of processes including condensation polymerization, depolymerization, purification, and further polymerization, resulting in a novel, fully biodegradable polyester material. The production process of polylactic acid is pollution‑free, and its end products are biodegradable, enabling them to cycle naturally in the environment. Consequently, it is an ideal green polymer and a high‑tech, environmentally friendly product that the state actively promotes. Polylactic acid finds extensive applications in electronic device housings, automotive components, medical devices, textile fibers, agricultural mulch films, food packaging, tableware, and other fields.

Jinwei’er Machinery’s PLA sheet extrusion line is designed for the production of PLA (polylactic acid) and modified PLA. Derived from plant-based resources, PLA can be directly processed via extrusion molding. Thanks to its biodegradability, compostability, and recyclability, PLA and its modified variants are widely used in food packaging, hardware packaging, and other applications. Equipped with a melt metering pump for precise extrusion and closed-loop control of speed and pressure, the system ensures uniform sheet thickness. The roller units feature independent drives, with synchronized linear velocity control for each roll. The entire machine is PLC‑controlled, enabling automated settings of process parameters, data processing and feedback, as well as alarm functions.

Multi-extruder co-extrusion technology can be employed to produce multilayer co-extruded PLA or starch-based sheets, which are widely used in thermoforming, printing, and metal‑based packaging, among other applications.

* Equipped with a precision dispenser, ensuring uniform layering; the proportion of each layer is adjustable, with digital control accuracy.

* The inclined tablet compression design makes operation and maintenance more convenient.

* Independent drive for the roller, with closed-loop control of linear speed synchronized to the extruder’s rotational speed.

* The entire machine is controlled by a PLC, enabling automated functions such as parameter setting, data processing and feedback, and alarm activation.

* The electrical control system and operating procedures were independently developed by Jinwei'er.
